Third Ward

Leaving our 'comfort zone' and discover the Third Ward in Houston, we visited Project Row Houses as a first step to get in contact with the African-American Community.
"The mission of Project Row Houses is to be the catalyst for transforming community through the celebration of art and African-American history and culture."
Beside the Project Row Houses the Eldorado Ballroom is another Texas Hisorical Marker which is used for events now, but unfortunately it had lost a bit of its historic charm during the last years. "Erected in 1939, the Eldorado was the centerpiece of its neighborhood and hosted top names in blues, jazz and R&B - Count Basie, B.B. King, Ike & Tina Turner, Guitar Slim, Etta James, Jimmy Reed - from the 1940s to the 1970s."
