Magic Lights II

More than one million of lights shined everywhere during the Zoo Lights.
Again, another light spot in this holiday season. We walked through an enchanted forest with its fairytale trees. The Zoo was transformed into a wonderfully whimsical place.
May the New Year offer plenty of magical moments like these.

Mice and Nuts

What an amazing American family tradition this is, seeing The Nutcracker ballet every Christmas Season. This time the Houston Ballet had taken me with their awesome production into a real Christmas spirit.

Magic Lights

Indeed December will be Magic again, while driving through the streets in River Oaks you will find a really impressive and amazing atmosphere.
Seems like being in a Magic Wonderland.
Make a wish and hide in a tree! * Merry Christmas *

Merry Grinch-mas!

Off we went, to another Christmas party and to visit the Grinch at the Children's Museum of Houston. While having so much visitors, the Grinch was very kind and patient. Maybe this will makes his heart grow.

Yuletide

Yuletide is an old English term for Christmas time. We discover a historical Christmas at Bayou Bend Collections and Gardens -
The house of Ima Hogg, known as The First Lady of Texas. While the garden was full of amazing characters, each room in the house was inspired by a Christmas setting based on a different historic periods.

A Red Bow

It doesn't matter how big or which style a house is, at least every house needs a red bow to be prepared for christmas.

A Christmas Carol

Never expecting to find Germany in Houston, we've been very surprised to discover the Houston Liederkranz, a traditional German Gesangsverein. Here Linus has sung a Christmas carol, together with some of his colleagues from the Deutsche Samstagsschule. Reminds me of the 'Wiener Sängerknaben', very festive.

Thanksgiving Day Parade

Houston isn't New York City, but to have a glimpse at the Parade in downtown Houston instead of Macy's Parade was enjoyable too.

Show business

Even cats can enjoy a life on tour in the US. Here are the fabulous and amazing Acro Cats and the Rock Cats. You have to see them in little theaters, while in Germany cats had their great performance on TV in the eighties.
