Art Oasis in Desert Town

Marfa is probably one of the best art places in Texas, a very atmospheric little town on the Chihuahuan Desert plateau. Funny thing of seeing this huge amount of hipsters outside a city.

Rio Bravo vs. Rio Grande

Depending on which side of the river you are, its name is Rio Bravo (Mexico side) or Rio Grande (US side). Along its way, the river forms part of the Mexico-United States border.  And again we crossed our path in a sense with John Wayne.

Off the Grid

Terlingua, a former mercury mining village, is located between Big Bend National Park and Big Bend Ranch State Park.  We stayed at lovely Villa Terlingua, a hippie dream in this so called ghost town
