Lucky Burger

Our first and last burger at Lucky Burger today.
After 40 years they have had to close because of the increasing rent.
So we've been very lucky to ate a last burger there.

In God we trust

We tried to get into the spirit of the Memorial Day at the Houston Museum of Natural Science today. In honor of those who have fallen, we joined for a special Two-Bell Ceremony.
HMNS transformed its front entrance area into a WWII military camp, completed with an authentic officer's tent, troop tents, a 75 mm Pack Howitzer, deuce-and-a-half troop trucks, a half-ton truck, Jeeps and even a halftrack. This was an opportunity to mingle with members of the 6th Cavalry Historical Association as they brought history to life as WWII officers and infantrymen.

Members of the Deer Park Orchestra entertained guests with patriotic music.

A moment of silence was accompanied by a bagpiper who had played Amazing Grace.

Plant me a Garden

An unexpected little oasis not far away from Houston, Peckerwood Gardens.
A lovely place to get closer to Mexican plants.

Ant City

A little village of ants castle. Might be the nests of some fire ants,
but I've avoided to get closer.

Nursery

A place where all the plants for Houston's city parks are coming from: the city greenhouse of Houston. Here Dee Howell, Senior Superintendent of Horticulture Services for the City of Houston, has given a tour and talked about the greenhouse.

MedArt Gallery

While visiting the The Sunset Clinic, the staged medical interior and a little portrait gallery in the entrance hall reminds me of visiting an art gallery.
Back on the web you'll have the opportunity to get a bit closer to the doctor's statements on youtube.
